Game pieces pictured on 1984 ed. Box

Post by Imperator » Fri May 28, 2010 3:57 pm

My original MB edition that I got in 1984 has pictures of the game components on it that are much more detailed than the actual pieces in the box. For example the tanks were Shermans and had visible sand shields, secondary armaments, etc visible (IIRC) and were far superior to anything included in any production version. Were these pre-production prototypes and were they every actually considered for inclusion in the game? What would it take to get those released in a deluxe edition?

Prototypes, some items from GHQ Models, not sure where they found the infantry units and seriously doubt they would of put them in the production game based on the additional cost for a higher quality mold.

Money

The day of simply molds are out, with the competition out there, like Operation Barbarossa & Tide of Iron, and, so forth , if you want to use simply molds, be prepared to lose money. Thanks, Pellulo
