Anyone with info on sculpts?

Post by kelvSYC » Thu Aug 20, 2009 11:50 pm

I'd like some information on what types of ships/planes were used to represent the various units in the game. It seems that there have been minor variations in the units used over the years, and I'm trying to find more information.

In particular, I'd like to know if there are any units for which there are more than one model, such as the American fighter, and the identity of these models.

A few related questions:
* I think every power has at least two types of cruiser (and for American and Japanese cruisers, the 1942 cruiser and the Guadalcanal cruiser appears to be identical). Is this correct?
* I seem to have two models for the Japanese artillery. Since I have six of a second model, I assume that 1942 has a new model? Or are they from the Guadalcanal set and I'm missing one?
* For Chinese troops, the Pacific and anniversary models are different in shape and color. Do they represent different troops?

The cruisers are the same for each nation across all games, except for the USSR (see above). The German cruiser was redone for AA42, but it's a new mold of the same class ship.

1942 has a new sculpt. It's the same artillery piece, except the carriage is in the firing, rather than towing, position.

No. The Chinese infantry in Pacific were simply Soviet infantry recycled from the Europe game and molded in a different color.
