Heavy Bombers and Jets would both be very cool to have (does that mean we'd need Super Submarines as well?), but not rockets. Cool as a V-1 or V-2 would be, they just didn't have the range to make putting them on the board worthwhile, plus they aren't reusable. If anything, I suppose it would be like an upgrade (or addon) unit for the AA guns.

I think that Radar Station pieces might be cool...

More air

Post by Hefsgaard » Wed Jun 06, 2007 2:54 pm

I actualy dont think the game needs more airunits.

Rockets, would be sort of a substitute (cheeper?) bomber used for economic warfare. Either regular bombers, or a simple rule letting a nation purchase a number of dice, to be used for strategic bombing, would suffice.

Heavy bomber

Post by Mimmo » Thu Jun 07, 2007 3:09 am

I vote for the heavy bomber because, during WWII, they have a more significant role then jet fighters or rockets.
In my home game I have already included the heavy bomber (Germany and United States only). I choose the B-29 Superfortress (of course) and the Messerschmitt Me 264 "Amerika Bomber".
Here the technical data:
- Cost: 20 ICP;
- Move: 8
- Defence when parked: 0
- Defence during dogfight: 2
- Bombing: 8 (roll 2 dice per plane).

Note: i use 12 face dices.
At the following list I post my home made miniatures for the B-29 and Me 264. I made the Superfortress stretching the B-17 miniatures and the Amerika Bomber cutting and remodelling the Russian bomber.
Sounds cheap but looks not bad…

How about this?

Hey "Mimmo"! You could even see about trying to obtain some 1/700th 'scale' versions of that B-29 "Bomber", as I have from long ago and they even include some 'decals' for those and the Japan "Fighters" that are another part for this kit. The "Jack"-/-"Raiden" fighters are way too small but the other 2-engine type is just perfect in proportions to the others AND designed as the "Interceptor" for these, of which they were just that historically. Check out "ebay" for some 'Skywave' or perhaps even 'Fujimi' products, of which I do believe that these consist of for that. I went ahead and modified the 2-engine one into a Hs-129 "Tank Killer" ground attack aircraft, as I do have Il-2 "Sturmoviks", "Hurricane Mk II", or "P-400s" kinds as well. In fact, I even went ahead and did some "Ba-65" kind for an Italian ground attack one too, but that was from an entirely different aircraft of which is bigger overall.
