The battle board.

Post by The Old Soldier » Mon Feb 21, 2005 3:37 am

I'm a firm believer in keeping it simple. Why make new units, when manipulation of the present ones might be better. hence the battle boards.

If you had different battle boards to reflex different terrain, you can effectively change combat values of the units to reflex the type of battle they must fight. Example territories with Key cities would use a map that changed values of the units to reflex urban warfare. Other boards for jungles, steppes, and desert, along with a normal one. Each territory would be coded so to know which board is to be used.

aloha old soldier,

keep in mind the advanced version larry is creating takes into account knowledge of the harris gaming system...im all for simple, advanced simple ;)

the gameboard should show terrain changes, and with less art on the battleboards (simple rule applies here) there should be more than enough room on the battleboard to show these differences...
