I'd suggest we get together and do a joint map project; only thing is he'd insist on putting Berlin in the middle of Africa because " it makes for a more balanced game".
you sound exactly how i would think agen t smith sounded, but germany caputeree egypt but did not have the suzel canal. the salient wasn't as big due to smolensk being closer to moscow than depeteied. but w-russia is a vital terrtory and can't be stractch off. bring moscow further west and it will be more in line but still just as vital.

No. 10-20- flashmans 5 minute maps

Score : 0/20

What saves it from going into the negative is that is can provide a nice paper for cat droppings and you wont even notice your cat went to the bathroom because the map has so many stupid things on it that it begins to look like a worn out Vegas casino carpet at the El Cortez poker room.
Hey IL, are sure you are in the right place? :?

Isn't this exactly what is going on over in that thread on A&A.org?

That's what I thought.

Oh, that's right! You can't use your moderator powers to change anything you don't like over here on the MB. :P

Enjoy!

To be entirely fair, I believe he's only deleted one of my posts - when I requested an English translation of one of his more contorted pieces of gibberish.

Rate Pacific and Europe Flashman, I'm strangely curious. Personally I don't mind your rating system it's a bit of fun.

I don't mind if maps are not entirely accurate I still recognise hard work and skill.

I'd have to work out a new formula for them. To be blunt, I don't see anything like as many mistakes in E and P games. I suppose a main reason for this is that the original official maps were pretty polished pieces of work; off hand I can only think of the rather silly "Bessarabia" territory being a real howler. But I'll try to get round to it.

Meanwhile if you know of any world maps I've missed (or where I can find links to the above maps for illustration) post the details and I'll give them the Flashy treatment. These have to be reasonably different; I'm not interested in maps that just copy AAR and change a few colours around.

Slight revision to the system. Now a map starts with 20/20, but loses a point for each of the following:

1. Incorrect placement of Rio de Oro (should be in NORTH Africa)
2. Incorrect Suez (Sinai in Trans-Jordan)
3. Incorrect Bosporus (Constantinople not in Turkey)
4. Moscow in Asia
5. Wrong shape to Eastfront, no Pripet
6. Wrong shape to Westfront (e.g. Denmark in W. Europe)
7. Pakistan syndrome (anachronistic or illogical territory names)
8. Incorrect/inconsistent national control for map date
9. Poor little Russia (unrealistic IPC values)
10. Disrespect to India (just one low value territory)
11. Postage Stamp Republics (too many small irrelevant states)
12. Blow up Boxes
13. Atlantic Hop (possible to cross Atlantic in one turn)
14. Poor colour scheme
15. Too much clutter
16. Poor artwork
17. Inconsistent/unhistorical icons (should be all flags, all roundels etc)
18. Inactive neutrals
19. Impossible Geography (e.g. Irish-Scots landbridge)
20. Irrelevant decor (e.g. US Artillery photo in mid Atlantic)

NO.10 - AXIS AND ALLIES GLOBAL EDITION

http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/7113 ... armqc2.jpg

Points deducted for:
5. no Pripet
6. direct movement from UK to Germany via North sea
7. Bangladesh, much of Africa
8. Madagascar
9. Albania worth more than Romania???
13. Atlantic too narrow
15. too much tiny text to explain features
17. that silly Russian symbol again! Incorrect Italy

Found this at .org, hopefully there is an updated version available!

SCORE: 12/20

Very promising, but spoiled by some silly historical mistakes and lack of care. Update could make top score!
