Terrain Types

We've talked about Advanced A&A... Now I'd like to hear your comments on what YOU envision a DELUXE A&A GAME to be. What would it look like.

Should the game include more terrain types?

Yes, add mountains and other "difficult" terrain.

Upon further review, I must also apologize to aldertag.

aldertag- I should have properly addressed my displeasure concerning your "Please do read a history book" to you, not IL.

And you were correct to let me know that I was directing my angst, in this particular instance, against the wrong person.

I am sorry to have gotten this situation twisted around.

Im comfused now... does this mean you are sorry to me or adlertag?

BTW Frimmel is my pal and i would never place him in a bad light.

IL- I am apologizing to you for improperly crediting the "Please do read a history book" comment to you.

I am apologizing to aldertag for correcting him about who I was admonishing. He saw that I was crediting his comment to you and was trying to tell me that I was yelling at the wrong person. Frimmel later pointed out that it was aldertag that made the condescending remark, not you.

I then realized my mistake and proceeded to apologize for that.

The rest of my original post still applies.

I am not adverse to the game board bearing more resemblance to a topographical map. While I don't want to see the game board drawn on a topographical map some indications of "the lay of the land" would not be out of line.

I do not think in the context of a Deluxe edition the scale warrants rules for terrain types.

If in the context of an Advanced edition the game board includes more territories and the types of units expands the inclusion of rules for terrain should certainly be considered.

Thanks IL . 8)

Last time, terrain favours the defender, and mountains favour the defender even more. In A&A Revised map, huge territories like Norway, Southern Europe, Spain, Turkey, Caucasus, China, Yakut, Buryata, Alaska and Canada are all mountain, and all units in this territories should defend on 3 or less. Now this is simple and add reality to the game, and no devastating chances in the grand strategy. Please Larry, I beg, I beg. Hey, you are american, I give you money if you add mountains to deluxe map

And if my last post too was rude and insulting , you dont need to apologize to me, we have different customs in Norway, its like a whole another culture. We live and fight in the mountains, we are not girlies
