Option Play for D-Day

Axis & Allies D-Day begins as Operation Overlord, the invasion of German-held Normandy, is underway -- 130,000 soldiers of the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States are poised to assault Fortress Europe. You and your fellow world powers control their fates.

Targeting or "Direct Hits"

Post by Ian D » Sat Jun 19, 2004 7:48 pm

We use a Direct Hits house rule that allows attacking or defending tanks, artillery, bombers and blockhouses (but not infantry) to choose their target on a roll of 1, otherwise the loser of a unit chooses. This works really well and often allows artillery to knock out tanks - just like the AT guns often did in this campaign. It avoids accompanied tanks being singled out all the time as the inevitable target of choice by eg bombers and blockhouses!

if your talking about the game 7 picks...

1 ftr rennes, 1 ftr rennes, 2 in chartres, 2 in chartres, 1 in rouen, 1 in rouen

thats normally how i set my ftrs early in the game, makes germany pay for reinforcement, i generally change air placement after all reienforments are in, usually t 4 or t 5...
