simple qyestion

Post by Detuite » Tue Feb 08, 2011 4:25 pm

I noticed on another forum that the ussr get +9 ipcs per turn using alpha 2. I haven't seen this rule and I am wondering why, and is it a accual rule or someones house rule thank you.
But if they all run away i can't kill the rest of them!

They get +9 IPCs in the GLOBAL game, because in Global they also have the Soviet territories on the Pacific half of the map, which there are 9 of at 1 IPC each. They get more because they have more territories when you put the maps together.

If you are just playing Europe, USSR gets the income for the Europe map, plus those two infantry that get placed on the East edge of the map (in global USSR does not get those)

The +9 IPCs per turn to the USSR was my suggestion to someone who wanted to play Alpha+.2 using only the Europe game instead of the Global game. It was to be done instead of giving the USSR the two infantry per turn that they get in the box rules. As it is not official at this time, it could be considered to be a "house rule".

so Krieghund, for Euro40 only, you would give USSR +9 IPC instead of the 2 ift/turn?

We played Euro40 Alpha+2 a week or so ago and used the +2 ift rule. Seemed balanced but Axis did G1 Barbarossa and Italy fared very poorly in the Med. By end of turn 6, Rome was Allied w. no Italian pieces left on the board and Axis conceded. Ukrainian IC did not fall to GE until turn 5 or 6. But Axis also made a rookie AA40 mistake allowing UK navy to sail 3 SZs and capture Berlin. Italy took it back right after but the damage was done and Axis could not recover.
