TRICKY SHORE BOMBARDMENT

Naval strategy and wise economic moves are both critical in waging this far-flung war across an entire hemisphere. To the familiar elements from Axis & Allies, Axis & Allies: Pacific adds convoys, island air and naval bases, kamikazes, destroyers, and the Chinese army.

TRICKY SHORE BOMBARDMENT

Since my playgroup in Norway got fancy of A&A Pacific, some tricky situations occure all the time, geeez.

pre-combat: UK have one inf in Siam.

combat move: Japan want to amphibious assault Siam, and move 2 trannies with 4 inf into seazone 46. In seazone 53 Japan have a Battleship that I want to shore bombard Siam with before the assault.

Now can I do that ???

or must the Battleship be in the same seazone as the trannies ??

No, you cannot bombard from a different sea zone. From the section on Amphibious Assaults:
If no naval battle was fought in the sea zone, battleships and destroyers may then bombard the shore provided they are in the same sea zone as the unloading transport(s).

Now is that correct ?, really ?

We got all 4 A&A games (except D-day) and all the rulebooks is slightly different, so it is hard to keep the different game-rules separated.

Your way makes sence, and I will read the rulebook once more.

It's on page 17 in the 1st column. I was working from an on-line copy earlier, so I couldn't get a page number.

It is a pain sometimes keeping track of the subtle rule differences from one A&A game to another.

I am pretty sure that that rule is the same for all axis and allies.
