concerning bidding rules

Link up A&A Pacific 1940 and Europe 1940, and you've got Axis & Allies Global 1940.

concerning bidding rules

Post by huvulu » Mon Apr 28, 2014 4:11 am

Hi there,

I'm new to this board, but not to the game (most times playing ftf).

I read through all this interesting topics but I can't find something about bidding in AA Global '40. Maybe I suffer from some kind of blindness...

Is there someone out there for helping me? At which size is the bid (more or less), are there placement restictions especially for china etc.?

Thanks in advance,
yours,
h.

The placement rules don't change. Each player or team secretly writes down a number, then they reveal the number to each other simultaneously. The player or team who wrote down the lowest number plays the Allies. At the end of the round number of the number that was bid, the Allies must be in control of 2 of the 3 Axis capitols. If they aren't, the Axis win.

Hi there,

first, thanks for your answer. But, second, I know how bidding works. Problem is: how much to bid? What's the right amount? 10 IPC? 12IPC? What works for other, maybe experienced players for the moment?

Cheers,
h.

Just add 1 cruiser and 1 submarine to Sea Zone 98, for the UK

And you can either add 1 destroyer to Sea Zone 91 (UK again), or add 1 Strategic Bomber on Russia (Soviet Obviously)

In global it's between 11 and 12, usually a cruiser for Italy or more land units in Africa usually 2 artillery 1 infantry if the bid is 11.
We really need an Axis and Allies World War one game so i can play that on August 1st, 2014.

Wow! Now I am really confused!

The one tells me it's balanced with adding some UK-ships and / or a russian bomber.
The other tells me to bid for the axis.

That's strange, how can this vary that much?

You're bidding for the Allies, not the Axis.
