Re: New Version
Incidentally, I think the racetracks should be in the correct shape for Roman Circuses, rather than the twisty loop fests of Ave Caesar.
This is pretty close to what I had in mind:

Reading through the Glenn Drover version, there's little here I'd use. The Alliances bidding phase is replaced by my own marriage market.
If using the longer timeline idea, the 4 campaign seasons would represent 4 different eras, with slightly different rules applicable to each.
Maybe players eliminated in the early eras can come back later as Barbarian factions; eventually you'd end up with 2 surviving Roman factions (Western and Eastern Empires) with 4 non-Romans closing in on them.

Anything happening here?
Few more ideas if the game is going ahead.

Re: New Version
So, any news on this? I appreciate that Mein Host has been very busy with War Room but it would be nice to get a little teaser about a new version.

Re: New Version
Yes I know I should not, but, I will buy a third edition. The second was like a Shelby Mustang in size and scope to the orginial COTE Beetle in size and scope. Still I enjoyed playing the basic game on it, the upgraded version with cards and with their fancy card protectors, was like trying to upgrade it to a Civilization type game.
Still version two was wonderful in miniatures, along with the two basic COTE games I had, I would enjoy a third version, thanks, Suit/Pellulo
PS maybe a two parter game, early Roman Republic Empire, &, Empire under the Caesars(from mid-seventh century B.C. to mid-century fourth century A.D.). The second part from the start of the Dark Ages to the End of the Middle Ages, 350s to 1450s A.D., with the End of the Western Empire to the end of the Oriental Roman Empire/Eastern Roman Empire/Byzantine Empire.
Just think 2200 years of Roman Minis and their opponents!

Re: New Version
New game in Kickstarter:
https://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame ... s-volume-1
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/19 ... /invasions
More akin to the Britannia system.
Naturally, I've done my own version of the northwest island section of the map

Re: New Version
Would it be just another Britannia advance version, only dealing just before, during, and, shortly after the Roman Conquest. From Caesar getting tribute, Claudius conquering, revolts and pacification and defense against the Picts and Ango-Saxon Sea Raiders, to the end of the Arthur Era(1st. Century B.C. to early 5th. Century A.D.)? Thanks, Pellulo
