Larry's Other Games

Post by Craig A Yope » Tue Aug 23, 2011 11:51 am

At the WBC Auction this year, Joe Angiolillo (Of Nova Games fame) put these three classic Larry Harris games into the mix for purchase.

VI Caesars (1985 first edition before Conquest MB) Shrink-$40
Broadsides & Boarding Parties (1985 1st ed before MB) Shrink-$45
National Liberation Front (Larry Harris 1985 1st ed) Shrink-$32

Joe also ran a seminar that was titled "Development of Axis & Allies" which included audio of an interview that he conducted with Larry about the original A&A game.

At the end of his presentation, he game away his personal copy of the elusive 1939 version of the Nova A&A.

I was unaware that the 1939 variant was actually his creation that came about after he left Nova. It had his original typewritten rules and a nicely laminated copy of the map. Also, included were the China and French counters that are part of the 1939 setup.

It is always fun to find out something new about the A&A universe.

Sweet deals for that price. They generally go for 4 times that. Boarding parties compete set must go for ~400 mint.

Interesting insight your getting. Figured that is why Larry is being so quiet about any inquiries to names on boxes.

Some fall out? Some rule arguement? Or perhaps some dicing on big battles that seemed to always go the other persons way? Sub rule arguments? None-the-less, thank you for sharing inside information.
